Dendritic cell immunotherapy
Dendritic cell immunotherapy is a cancer treatment that uses special immune cells, called dendritic cells, to help the body fight cancer. These cells naturally detect and present abnormal cancer proteins to the immune system, activating immune responses. In this therapy, scientists collect dendritic cells from a patient, "train" them in the lab to recognize cancer markers, and then reintroduce them into the patient. This enhances the immune system’s ability to identify and attack cancer cells more effectively. It’s a personalized approach that leverages the body's own immune defense mechanisms to target and destroy tumors.
