Denazification
Denazification was a post-World War II effort by Allied authorities to remove Nazi influence from German society, government, and institutions. It aimed to identify and purge individuals involved with the Nazi Party, dismantle Nazi organizations, and promote democratic values. The process included legal trials, education reforms, and social assessments to prevent future militarism and totalitarianism. Denazification sought to rebuild a democratic Germany by eradicating Nazi ideology and ensuring that former Nazi supporters were held accountable while helping ordinary citizens reintegrate into a peaceful, democratic society.
