Demosisto

Demosisto was a pro-democracy political organization in Hong Kong, founded in 2016 by young activist leaders including Joshua Wong. Its goal was to advocate for greater democratic freedoms, universal suffrage, and autonomous governance within Hong Kong, especially in opposition to Beijing's increasing influence. The group focused on raising awareness, mobilizing support, and pushing for political reforms through peaceful means like protests and advocacy. Demosisto also emphasized youth participation in politics. It disbanded in 2020 following China's national security law, which limited political activism and led to the disqualification of its members.
