Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD)

The Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) was a coalition of Venezuelan political parties and groups formed in the 2000s to oppose the government of Hugo Chávez. It aimed to unite various opposition parties to present a common front, coordinate strategies, and challenge Chávez’s policies through elections and civic activities. MUD sought to promote democratic principles, human rights, and political change in Venezuela. Over time, it evolved into a key platform for opposition efforts, facilitating negotiations, elections, and political mobilization against the ruling government.
