Democratic National Congress (Ghana)

The Democratic National Congress (DNC) in Ghana was an early political organization active in the country's independence movement. Founded in the 1950s, it aimed to promote self-governance and democratic principles during Ghana's transition from colonial rule under Britain. The DNC brought together various political groups and leaders advocating for independence, playing a significant role in shaping Ghana's political landscape. Although it eventually merged with other parties to form the Convention People's Party, the DNC's efforts contributed to Ghana becoming the first African country to gain independence in 1957.
