Democracy and media

Democracy is a system where people have a say in how they're governed, typically through voting for leaders and policies. Media refers to the channels—like newspapers, TV, and the internet—that distribute information and news. In a healthy democracy, media plays a crucial role by providing accurate information, encouraging public discussion, and holding those in power accountable. When media is free and independent, citizens can make informed choices. Conversely, biased or controlled media can mislead or limit the public’s understanding, impacting the effectiveness of democracy. Together, democracy and media support an informed, participatory society.
