Dementor

A Dementor is a fictional creature from the Harry Potter series, depicted as a dark, hooded figure that embodies fear and despair. It feeds on human happiness, causing feelings of hopelessness and depression in those nearby. Dementors can perform the Dementor’s Kiss, which drains a person’s soul entirely. They are often used as metaphors for depression and anxiety, representing the invasive nature of negative emotions. In the stories, they are controlled by the Ministry of Magic and serve as guards for the wizard prison, Azkaban. Their presence elicits a profound sense of dread, making them one of the series' most ominous creatures.
