Delta Clipper Experimental Vehicle (DC-X)
The Delta Clipper Experimental Vehicle (DC-X) was an innovative reusable spacecraft developed in the 1990s aimed at making space travel more affordable. Designed as a short-term prototype, it could take off and land vertically like a rocket and be quickly reused for multiple missions, reducing costs compared to traditional spacecraft. The DC-X helped test new technologies for rapid turnaround and reusability, paving the way for future space vehicles. Though it never became operational for commercial use, its success influenced the development of modern reusable rockets, such as SpaceX’s Falcon series.
