Delayed Entry Program
A Delayed Entry Program (DEP) is a voluntary program that allows individuals to enlist in the military but postpone active duty service to a future date. It helps recruits complete personal responsibilities, such as finishing education or training, before beginning their military careers. During this period, recruits undergo preparatory training and administrative processing. The DEP provides a structured transition into active duty, ensuring recruits are physically and mentally prepared while giving flexibility for their personal plans. Once the designated time arrives, they report for active service, having already committed to their military future.
