Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF)
Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) is a technique that plays a person's own voice back to them with a slight time delay, usually a fraction of a second. This delay can disrupt normal speech patterns, often causing the speaker to slow down or alter their speech. DAF is sometimes used in speech therapy to help individuals with stuttering or communication disorders, as it can promote more fluent speech. The effect varies among users; while it may improve fluency for some, it can temporarily interfere with speech clarity for others.
