Deficient numbers

A deficient number is a positive whole number where the sum of its proper divisors (all positive divisors excluding the number itself) is less than the number. For example, for 8, its divisors are 1, 2, 4, and 8. Excluding 8, the sum is 1 + 2 + 4 = 7, which is less than 8. This indicates that the number does not have enough divisors to match itself, classifying it as deficient. In general, deficient numbers show a scarcity of divisors that sum up to less than the number itself.
