The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is the federal agency responsible for coordinating and overseeing all agencies related to national security and the military. Its main role is to ensure the safety and defense of the United States through the armed forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force. The DoD manages military operations, develops defense policies, and supports military personnel.
