Defence Procurement Agency (DGMR)
The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) was a UK government department responsible for acquiring defense equipment and services, such as ships, aircraft, and weapons, ensuring the armed forces had the necessary resources. It acted as a bridge between the military’s needs and the private sector suppliers, managing contracts, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring value for money. The DPA aimed to streamline and improve the efficiency of acquiring defense capabilities, supporting national security. It was later integrated into the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organization to modernize and centralize defense procurement efforts.
