Deepwater Horizon cleanup

The Deepwater Horizon cleanup involved removing oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico after an explosion on the rig in 2010. Responders used various methods such as skimming oil from the surface, dispersants to break oil into smaller droplets, burning surface oil, and applying absorbent materials. They also constructed barriers called booms to contain the spill and conducted controlled burns to reduce surface oil. These efforts aimed to minimize environmental damage, protect wildlife, and clean up the affected areas efficiently. It was a large-scale operation involving multiple agencies and technologies to mitigate one of the largest maritime oil spills in history.
