Deep Core

Deep core is a crucial part of Earth's interior, located beneath the mantle and extending from about 2,900 km to the center at 6,371 km deep. It consists mainly of iron and nickel metals in a solid state at the center, surrounded by a liquid outer core. The deep core is responsible for generating Earth’s magnetic field through the process of geodynamo, caused by the movement of the liquid metal. Understanding the deep core helps scientists learn about Earth's magnetic properties, internal heat flow, and planetary evolution.
