Decline of the Roman Empire
The decline of the Roman Empire was a gradual process caused by a combination of internal weaknesses—such as political corruption, economic troubles, and military problems—and external pressures from invading barbarian groups. Over time, these issues weakened central authority, reduced resources, and led to territorial losses. The empire split into Eastern and Western parts, with the Western Roman Empire eventually falling in 476 AD. This decline was not sudden but resulted from decades of internal decline and external invasions, transforming the Roman world and ushering in the medieval era.
