DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change)

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) was a UK government department responsible for overseeing energy production, security, and environmental efforts related to climate change. Its role included promoting renewable energy sources, reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring affordable and reliable energy supplies. Established to support the UK’s goals in combating climate change, DECC worked on policies to transition to cleaner energy and improve energy efficiency. In 2016, it was merged into the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), continuing its mission within a broader strategic framework.
