DEA's "Operation Cornerstone"
Operation Cornerstone was a DEA initiative launched in 2003 aimed at dismantling large-scale drug trafficking organizations involved in the distribution of methamphetamine and other illicit drugs. The operation focused on targeting key leaders and infrastructure within drug networks to disrupt supply chains, seize assets, and reduce drug availability. It combined intelligence gathering, undercover operations, and cooperation with local agencies to enhance enforcement effectiveness. Essentially, Operation Cornerstone sought to weaken major drug enterprises by eliminating their leadership and disrupting their operations, thereby reducing drug flow into communities.
