De Quervain's Tenosynovitis

De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is a condition causing pain and swelling on the thumb side of your wrist. It occurs when the tendons that control thumb movement become inflamed or irritated, often due to repetitive motions or overuse. This inflammation narrows the space through which these tendons pass, leading to difficulty moving the thumb and wrist, along with tenderness and a sensation of stiffness. It’s common among new parents, workers, and athletes. Treatment typically involves rest, ice, anti-inflammatory medications, and sometimes splinting or physical therapy to relieve symptoms and restore movement.
