DDoS Attack
A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is when multiple computers flood a targeted website or online service with excessive traffic, overwhelming its servers. This overload prevents legitimate users from accessing the site, causing it to slow down or become completely unavailable. Attackers often use a network of compromised computers, called a botnet, to generate the traffic, making the attack difficult to stop because it originates from many sources. Essentially, it’s like a traffic jam designed to block the normal flow of online activity to a specific website or service.
