DCI (Director of Central Intelligence)

The Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) was the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the broader U.S. intelligence community until 2005. The DCI was responsible for overseeing intelligence gathering, analysis, and operations to inform national security decisions. This role involved coordinating efforts across various intelligence agencies and advising the President and other key officials. In 2005, the position was restructured into the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), which aimed to enhance collaboration among agencies and streamline intelligence operations in response to changing global security challenges.
