DBS devices

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) devices are medical implants used to treat neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia. They consist of a small battery-powered device placed under the skin, usually near the clavicle, connected to electrodes implanted in specific areas of the brain. The device sends controlled electrical pulses to modulate abnormal brain activity, helping to reduce symptoms such as tremors, rigidity, and movement difficulties. DBS settings can be adjusted non-invasively to optimize treatment. It’s a safe, reversible procedure that improves quality of life for many patients with otherwise difficult-to-manage neurological disorders.
