Dayananda Saraswati

Dayananda Saraswati (1824–1883) was an influential Indian philosopher and teacher who founded the Arya Samaj, a movement advocating for the return to Vedic principles. He emphasized the importance of monotheism, education, and social reform, challenging superstition and outdated customs. Dayananda promoted the use of reason and Sanskrit learning to restore India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. His efforts contributed to awakening national pride, encouraging literacy and social change, and inspiring later leaders in India's independence movement.
