Day and Night Equality

Day and night equality refers to the concept that, over the course of a year, the amounts of daylight and darkness are roughly equal. Due to the tilt of Earth's axis, during equinoxes—around March 21 and September 23—day and night are approximately 12 hours each everywhere on Earth. This balance results from the Earth's position relative to the Sun, causing the Sun to be positioned directly above the equator. While daytime length varies with seasons, equinoxes mark moments of equal daylight and night worldwide, symbolizing a natural equilibrium in Earth's rotation and tilt.
