David Jewitt

David Jewitt is an American astronomer renowned for his discovery of Trans-Neptunian Objects, including the first observed Kuiper Belt object, 1992 QB1. His research has expanded our understanding of the solar system's outer regions, revealing a vast population of icy bodies beyond Neptune. Jewitt's work has helped scientists learn about planetary formation and the early history of our solar system. He is a professor at UCLA and has received numerous awards for his contributions to planetary science and astronomy.
