David Dodd (Economist)

David Dodd was an influential American economist best known for co-developing the dividend discount model (DDM), a method used to value stocks based on their expected future dividends. His work helped investors assess the intrinsic value of investments by estimating the present worth of future earnings. Dodd's research contributed significantly to modern financial theory and investment analysis. Although less widely known than some of his contemporaries, his insights continue to underpin valuation strategies used by investors and financial analysts today.
