Daun Movement
Daun movement refers to a type of plant movement involving the rapid bending or movement of leaves or leaflets, typically as a response to stimuli such as touch, wind, or damage. This movement often occurs without the plant continuously investing energy, relying instead on quick changes in turgor pressure within specialized cells. For example, the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) folds its leaves when touched as a defense mechanism. Daun movements help plants adapt to their environment, protect themselves from harm, and sometimes aid in reducing water loss or deterring herbivores.
