DAT (Digital Audio Tape)
Digital Audio Tape (DAT) is a data storage format used to record and reproduce high-quality digital audio. It resembles traditional tape but stores music and sound signals digitally, capturing digital information rather than analog signals. This allows for clearer sound quality, longer recording times, and easier editing compared to analog tapes. DAT is used professionally in studios and by audiophiles. The tape is housed in a compact cassette-like cartridge, making it portable and durable. Despite its excellent sound quality, DAT has largely been replaced by other digital storage methods like CDs and digital files.
