Dasara Festival (Dussehra)
Dasara, also known as Dussehra, is a major Hindu festival celebrated across India, typically in September or October. It commemorates the victory of good over evil, symbolized by Lord Rama’s defeat of the demon king Ravana and goddess Durga’s triumph over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. The festival involves rituals, fasting, processions, and cultural performances. It marks the end of Navratri, a nine-night celebration of goddess Durga. Across the country, people observe with grand fireworks, idol processions, and reenactments of mythological stories, emphasizing themes of righteousness, bravery, and renewal.
