Darwin's Origin of Species
Darwin's "Origin of Species" explains how species evolve over time through natural selection. Organisms produce more offspring than can survive, leading to competition. Individuals with traits better suited to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing those traits to the next generation. Over many generations, this process causes gradual changes in species, leading to the diversity of life we see today. Darwin’s work showed that evolution is a natural process driven by variation, survival, and reproduction, rather than by a predetermined plan or purpose.
