Dark nebulae
Dark nebulae are dense clouds of gas and dust in space that block light from stars and other objects behind them, making them appear as dark, opaque regions against the brighter background of stars and nebulae. These structures can span large areas and often serve as nurseries where new stars are born. Their dense material absorbs and scatters light, preventing us from seeing through them clearly. Dark nebulae are important for understanding star formation processes and the composition of the interstellar medium in our galaxy.
