Daphne Oram

Daphne Oram was a pioneering British composer and electronic music innovator, best known for co-creating the Oramics Technique—an early method of sound synthesis using visual drawings on film to shape electronic sounds. She was a founding figure of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, where she developed new ways of creating and manipulating electronic music for broadcasting. Oram's work helped shape modern electronic music and sound design, blending art and technology. Her innovative approach laid groundwork for contemporary electronic sound production and inspired future generations of musicians and engineers.
