Dano-Swedish War
The Dano-Swedish War (1657–1658) was a conflict between Denmark-Norway and Sweden, driven by territorial disputes during the Northern Wars. Sweden aimed to expand its influence and gain territories from Denmark, which controlled Scandinavia. The war involved battles across the Baltic region, notably in Denmark, where Swedish forces penetrated deeply. It ended with the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, where Denmark reluctantly ceded significant lands, including Skåne and Halland, to Sweden. This shift temporarily established Swedish dominance in parts of Scandinavia but also set the stage for future conflicts between the two nations.
