Dandy-Walker Malformation

Dandy-Walker Malformation is a congenital brain condition involving abnormal development of the cerebellum and the fluid-filled spaces near it. It typically features an enlarged fourth ventricle, partial or complete absence of the cerebellar vermis (the part that coordinates movement), and a cyst that forms in the posterior part of the brain. These changes can affect movement, coordination, balance, and sometimes cause enlarged head size or other neurological issues. The severity varies among individuals, and some may experience developmental delays or other symptoms. The exact cause is often unknown but may involve genetic and environmental factors.
