
Daishi, Kōbō
Kōbō Daishi, also known as Kukai, was a Japanese monk and scholar who lived in the 9th and 10th centuries. He founded the esoteric Buddhist sect Shingon Buddhism, emphasizing secret teachings and rituals to attain enlightenment.
