Dafydd ap Gruffydd
Dafydd ap Gruffydd (c. 1246–1283) was a Welsh nobleman and the last native Prince of Wales, serving from 1282 until his capture. He was a key figure in resisting English rule during the conquest of Wales by King Edward I. Dafydd led efforts to maintain Welsh independence but was betrayed, captured, and eventually executed for treason. His death marked the end of Welsh sovereignty before the nation became fully integrated into England. Today, he is remembered as a symbol of Welsh resistance and national identity.
