Dadaists

Dadaists were artists and writers from the early 20th century who challenged traditional art and cultural norms through provocative, absurd, and unconventional works. Emerging during and after World War I, they rejected logic and reason, instead embracing randomness, chaos, and anti-establishment ideas to express disillusionment with society. Their art often included collage, montage, and spontaneous events called performances, aiming to provoke thought and question what constitutes art and meaning. Dadaism influenced later avant-garde movements and remains an important milestone in modern art’s exploration of originality, spontaneity, and the role of chaos in creative expression.
