Daboia

Daboia, commonly known as Russell’s viper, is a highly venomous snake native to South and Southeast Asia. Recognizable by its robust body and distinctive markings, it is active primarily at night and often found in grasslands, forests, and agricultural areas. Its venom contains potent toxins that can cause severe bleeding, tissue damage, and potentially be fatal if not treated promptly. Despite its dangerous nature, it plays an important role in controlling rodent populations. Medical treatments, like antivenom, have improved outcomes, but cautious avoidance and awareness are essential when in its habitat.
