D.B. Cooper (puzzle mystery)
D.B. Cooper is the name given to an unidentified hijacker who, in 1971, hijacked a Northwest Orient Airlines plane, extorted $200,000 in ransom, and then parachuted into the night over the Pacific Northwest. Despite extensive investigations, neither Cooper nor the stolen money was ever conclusively found, making him the only person in U.S. history to successfully escape after a hijacking. His identity, motives, and what happened afterward remain unknown, fueling decades of public fascination, theories, and ongoing searches for clues.
