D.B. Cooper is the name given to an unidentified man who hijacked a commercial airplane in 1971, demanding ransom and threatening violence. After receiving $200,000 in cash and four parachutes, he parachuted from the plane over the Pacific Northwest and disappeared, never to be conclusively identified or caught. The FBI investigated extensively but the case remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American criminal history, sparking ongoing fascination and numerous theories about his true identity and fate.
