cystic endometriosis
Cystic endometriosis is a condition where abnormal tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrial tissue) grows outside the uterus, forming cystic, fluid-filled sacs. These cysts can develop on organs such as the ovaries, causing pain, swelling, and sometimes fertility issues. The tissue responds to hormonal changes, swelling and bleeding during menstrual cycles, which can worsen symptoms and lead to inflammation. It’s a variant of endometriosis characterized by cyst formation, and managing it often involves medication, surgery, or hormonal therapies to reduce symptoms and prevent complications.
