Cymraeg
Cymraeg, also known as Welsh, is a Celtic language primarily spoken in Wales. It has ancient roots, dating back over a thousand years, and is one of the oldest living languages in Europe. Today, Cymraeg is recognized as a minority language with cultural and political significance, supported by Welsh institutions and government efforts to preserve and promote its use. It coexists alongside English, serving as a symbol of Welsh identity and heritage. While spoken by a minority, especially in North and West Wales, Welsh is actively taught, used in media, and increasingly integrated into daily life.
