Cyclotrons
A cyclotron is a type of particle accelerator that uses magnetic and electric fields to speed up charged particles, like protons or ions, in a spiral path. The magnetic field keeps the particles moving in a circular trajectory, while an oscillating electric field boosts their energy each time they pass a specific point. This process continues, increasing the particles' speed until they reach a desired energy level, at which point they are extracted for use in medical treatments, research, or industry. Cyclotrons are compact and efficient tools for producing high-energy particles for various applications.
