Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)
Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) is a method used to detect errors in digital data. When information is sent over networks or stored, a short, fixed-length binary sequence, called a checksum, is generated based on the data. This checksum is sent or stored alongside the data. Upon retrieval or reception, a new checksum is calculated and compared to the original. If they match, the data is likely correct; if not, it indicates an error has occurred. CRC is widely used in networking and file storage to ensure data integrity and reliability.
