Cyclic Prefix

A cyclic prefix is a short extension added to each data block in certain digital communication systems, like OFDM. It repeats the end of the block at the beginning, creating a buffer zone that helps prevent interference caused by echoes or delays in the signal as it travels through different environments. This ensures that even if the signals arrive slightly delayed or distorted, the receiver can accurately recover the original data. In essence, the cyclic prefix improves signal reliability and reduces errors without significant extra bandwidth.
