CVV
CVV, or Card Verification Value, is a security feature on credit and debit cards, usually a three- or four-digit number. It helps verify that the person making an online or phone transaction physically has the card in hand, reducing fraud. The CVV is not embedded in the magnetic strip or chip, making it an additional layer of security for card-not-present transactions. Typically found on the back of the card (or front for American Express), it provides a way to confirm the cardholder's identity during online or remote purchases without exposing the full card details.
