Cutaways

A cutaway is a filmmaking and television technique where a scene briefly shifts focus to show a different view or detail separate from the main action. It’s often used to highlight specific objects, reactions, or background details without interrupting the flow of the main scene. For example, a cutaway might show a close-up of a character’s face reacting to something, or a product being used, before returning to the original scene.
