Cutaneous receptors

Cutaneous receptors are specialized nerve endings located in the skin that detect various types of stimuli such as touch, pressure, temperature, and pain. They help us perceive our environment by sending signals to the brain about sensations like a gentle touch, a sharp poke, or a change in temperature. Different types of receptors respond to specific stimuli—for example, some sense light touch, while others respond to deep pressure or heat. These receptors allow us to feel and react to the world around us, playing a crucial role in safety and interaction with our surroundings.
