Currency redenomination
Currency redenomination is the process of adjusting a country’s existing currency by changing its units—typically removing zeros or simplifying the currency's denomination—without altering its overall value. For example, 1,000 old units might become 1 new unit. This is often done to make the currency easier to use and display, especially if inflation has led to very large numbers. The goal is to streamline transactions and restore confidence, but the total money supply and the economy’s value remain unchanged. Essentially, it’s like changing from a large to a smaller, more manageable unit label without affecting the actual worth.
