Cumnor Place
Cumnor Place was an ancient manor house in Oxfordshire, England, notable for its historical and architectural significance. Built in the 15th century, it served as a noble residence and later became linked to the tragic story of Elizabeth Bonville, the wife of Sir Thomas Gresham. In the late 16th century, it gained notoriety as the site where William Shakespeare’s play "Hamlet" was reputedly performed. Over time, the estate fell into disrepair and was eventually demolished in the 17th century. Today, its site is part of a conservation area, reflecting its historical importance.
